About Me:
Pam McDonald is an award-winning artistic and cultural professional who has worked with a number of museums and cultural institutions, including the Smithsonian Institution, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and Home Box Office.


She has been described as a “connector” and a “community organizer for the arts”. In her role as founder and principal for the firm Cultural Cross Currents, her personal and professional career is dedicated to building community, making the world a better place and promoting positive change, by bringing diverse people together through culture and the arts. This work centers on the design of strategy, marketing and events for the New World. Pam has a keen appreciation for technology and current trends; her commentaries have appeared in various publications in several languages.


She has most recently served as a Deputy Field Organizer for the Barack Obama for America campaign, having attended Honolulu’s Punahou Academy in the same era with the president-elect. Pam McDonald has both undergraduate and advanced degrees in Linguistics from Pomona College and Georgetown University and taught Museum Studies at John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, Calif. She is a wife and the mother of a 22-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son, a soccer and band mother who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. She sits on numerous boards, including The Links, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, the Women’s Health Initiative of the American Lung Association, Friends of Faith (raising funds and awareness for low-income women with breast cancer), Dreamfish (an online ecosystem for change agents worldwide), and serves as an “Ambassador” for newZonia (a global vehicle for sustainable philanthropy in the arts).
